At eTail Germany Connect, we spoke to Robin Schlesinger, VP Strategic Account Management, and Andrej Kotliar, Business Development Manager at GXO Logistics to see why they sponsored for the first time in 2023.
Robin: This is our first eTail event, when we saw the list of attendees, we saw the cross-industry delegates and thought it’s really worth spending time here. Our marketing team chose, we all evaluated and together we thought it might be very useful.
Robin: : I must say, I really like the mix, it’s a cross-industry mix of attendees. There are very high-level, high-profile delegates, because it’s industry heads from different functions. You have data analytics leaders, supply chain leaders, but at the same time you have e-commerce leaders, which makes it very interesting and exciting. I’ve had several meetings today and I like the variety of consumer brands that I’ve spoken to, because those are on our target radar for business.
We do logistics, but we’ve had a lot of fashion brands or consumer product brands from different verticals speak to us, very fruitful discussions so far.
Robin: Very positive so far, especially the breakout sessions, it’s nice to meet industry peers from other companies. There’s a very balanced mix of being connected, but then as well as having some time to digest and to sit down and relax, it’s a nice platform to do this.
What I’d like to underline is the opportunity to really meet and greet people when during networking breaks, it’s a really nice environment. It’s a very nice platform because it’s set in a large room where you have the chance to connect with people that you normally would maybe not meet because you’re so deeply involved in meetings or inside keynotes.
Robin: Overall, we’ve had ten, but I’ve personally had eight. I would say around 50% of these will lead to a good follow-up with the chance of becoming a sustainable business opportunity.
We found the attendee profiling useful before our meetings. We could see their preferences, desires, focus, areas of expansion and their needs. It helped us a lot to understand what their companies are looking for and our approach on shortlisting our target meetings.
Robin: 9.5 out of 10. WBR sent us a lot of emails beforehand which helped our event organisation team to prepare.
Andrej: Let’s see, we are already very much looking forward to eTail Germany 2024, where I already understand there’s going to be a lot about transforming retail spaces and reimagining how to do retail. I’m convinced it will be just as good as this event.
Robin: We will sit down, analyse, and figure it out but I believe there’s a good chance we will sponsor again.
